Experienced. Effective.
Welcome to my campaign page!
EXCITING NEWS! - We have advanced to the general election on November 2nd!
My name is Erin Steinert, and I am running for Kennewick School Board position #2. I am a science educator, leader, and Kennewick resident with a passion for igniting curiosity in students. I’m running for KSD because I want quality, accurate STEM and Arts instruction in our schools and education that is equitable and accessible to all.
For over 17 years I’ve taught science in museums, planetariums, observatories, and schools. I’ve secured funding for things like summer camps and hands-on learning tools, and helped to create interactive educational exhibits.
Once elected I will strive to make communication between the board and the district more transparent. This will increase the board’s accountability and accessibility to the community. As school board director my endeavor will be to champion a supportive, fact-based learning environment for all of our students.
Take a look around, get to know me a bit more, and feel free to contact me with any questions!

Who am I?
That’s a great question! I am someone who has had a lifelong love of all things science, and who has turned their love of science into a career, teaching students of all ages while working for science museums, observatories, and planetariums.

"I wholeheartedly back Erin Steinert for Kennewick School Board Director Position #2. I can do this for a number of reasons: Erin understands kids. She has been helping educate and inspire our children for years through her job as Director of the Planetarium at Columbia Basin College. Erin is also an advocate for creating opportunities for STEM education for our community’s youth. Finally, Erin is a forward thinker. She understands that our community and world is changing. She is NOT afraid to ask the tough questions so our children’s education is ensured."
